A very tasty red with a taste of spice with no bitter afterbite

Ravenswood Vintner's Blend Merlot
A very good merlot for $10.

Sister Creek Merlot (Texas)
Another good deal for $10.  Available at the Winery
or San Antonio Sun Harvest stores.

Greg Norman Estates 1998 Coonawara Cabernet Merlot
An excellent value at $15 a bottle.

Armand Roux, Pic Saint Loup, Couteaux Du Languedoc, $12
A nice French wine made with Grenache and Syrah grapes.

Cecil is closing shop.  Seems too many people are happy with Miller Lite and don't appreciate the ability to sample flights of wines in this town.

Niles Wine Bar

Niles is in an out of the way stone house with a huge
deck out back to enjoy wine and occasional live
music.

UPDATE - DECEMBER 2001
Niles has bit the dust too.  Once again San Antonio didn't realize what it had until it was gone.  
Long live Riverwalk tourism with hit and miss cuisine and minimum wage jobs.
